Meet Ken Hammond

Ken Hammond, a 32-year-old UK-based blogger, is the creator and driving force behind Kurotokage, a blog dedicated to technology, anime, gaming, and Japanese culture. Born and raised in Manchester, Ken developed an interest in Japanese culture after watching his first anime at the age of 15. This passion led him to pursue a degree in Japanese Studies at the University of Sheffield, where he graduated with honors.
During his time at university, Ken participated in an exchange program that allowed him to study at Waseda University in Tokyo for a year. This immersive experience deepened his love for Japanese culture, language, and people. Upon returning to the UK, Ken began working as a software engineer for a gaming company, where he continues to contribute to the development of popular titles.
Ken’s family has always supported his passion for Japanese culture. His wife, Emily, shares his love for anime and gaming, and they enjoy attending conventions together. The couple has two young children, who are also being introduced to the exciting world of anime and gaming.
Through Kurotokage, Ken combines his education, work experience, and personal interests to create an engaging platform for fellow tech, anime, and gaming enthusiasts. His blog is a testament to his dedication to sharing the rich and diverse world of Japanese culture with a global audience.
